U.S. applicants are required to submit the following:
1. Completed application form (including Statement of Purpose).
2. Application fee of $100.00 (non-refundable); note that the application
fee for foreign students is $300.
3. Official transcripts from all Post-secondary institutions attended
4. Two (2) Passport-size photographs taken recently.
5. A copy of applicant's birth certificate or current driver's license.
6. A letter of interest from the applicant, explaining why he/she desires
to attend the Kings Park Universitys School of Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine.
7. Arrange for an interview.
Admission of International Students
The University is authorized under Federal Law to enroll nonimmigrant
alien students who are eligibility for admission. International students
must meet the same requirements for enrollment as students who are citizens
or residents of the U.S.A.
The Admissions Process for International Students
All international students fall under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department
of Homeland Security. University procedures and regulations for non-U.S.
citizens must comply with federal law; hence, admission requirements
for international students, including permanent residents, differ from
those for United States citizens.
In addition to the materials listed above required for U.S. applicants, international students must also submit:
1. One copy of his or her official transcripts mailed to KPU directly
from the college or university where the coursework was completed.
For coursework completed in another language, the applicant must arrange
for an official English translation of the transcripts at his or her
expense. Additionally all foreign coursework/academic credentials much
be evaluated by a KPU- approved credentials evaluation service at the
applicant's expense. (Contact the admissions office for a list of approved
evaluation services.)
2. Proof of sufficient financial resources for educational and personal
expenses.
3. Proof of English language competency. An applicant may be accepted
into the program if he or she satisfies one of the following indicators:
- Speaks English as his or her native language.
- Completed two years of baccalaureate level Education in an accredited
U.S. college or university, or an equivalent English- language foreign
institution
- Score at least 173 (computer-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL) and at least the currently-reported mean score on the
Test of Spoken English (TSE).
The university will issue an I-20 upon receipt of all of the application
materials required of foreign applicants.
