Welcome to Kings Park University School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (KPU), the first institution of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine to be established in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The purpose of this catalog is to give you information on our Master Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program and some general information on the University. We invite you to visit us and, if you do, we think you will see that we offer an excellent professional training program in Oriental medicine.
Our mission is to prepare our graduates to be effective practitioners of acupuncture and Oriental herbal medicine. By providing a strong cultural awareness of Oriental medicine, a solid understanding of conventional medicine, and extensive clinical training, KPU’s program provides the skills necessary to address a wide range of health issues, to counsel patients regarding health and wellness, and to work collaboratively with health care practitioners within a variety of clinical settings.
This is an exciting time to enter a career in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. People in the U.S. and around the world are increasingly embracing the time-honored art and science of this wonderful medicine, and are increasingly utilizing a wide range of alternative and holistic approaches to health and wellness. Our university is dedicated to providing you the best education and preparation possible.
